Link of the Week: Nov. 17 - 23
Price Is Right!
Gary Price, MLIS, is one of the world’s leading authorities on the Invisible Web—the part of the Internet that search engines such as Google usually miss. He’s dedicated countless hours to cataloging the Invisible Web, and you can take advantage of his hard work by using the tools he has compiled at Direct Search. “Direct Search is a growing compilation of links to the search interfaces of resources that contain data not easily or entirely searchable/accessible from general search tools…” he explains on his site. There’s a special search engine on his home page that lets you more easily navigate the Invisible Web, and the reference lists he has compiled himself. For example, there is a page with News and Information available via Streaming Audio & Video, including a Speech and Transcript Center, mostly with news about Iraq. There’s links to a full-text online book search engine, Gary’s List of Lists (useful industry/reference lists) and ResourceShelf (Gary’s information resources and news).

Media Forum Links
The handouts that were distributed by journalists at our media forum are online. Journalist contact information is posted also, if you want to follow up with any of the people you met at the forum (or if you live in the Asheville area and want to see what you missed!).
