Link of the Week: Oct. 27 - Nov.
2
Today's the Day
October may be known for Halloween, but it is also Sarcastic
Awareness Month. If you visited the movies during the past few weeks, you may
have unwittingly indulged in Popcorn Poppin Month, or even Pizza Month.
If you are unaware that October is the month to celebrate these events, or if
you are simply hard-pressed for a newsworthy story idea, here are some websites
that can help. A holiday, or an anniversary of a special event, is always a
great excuse to pitch a story. If nothing else, these sites will ensure you
are better prepared for Brain Injury Month next year (unless, perhaps, you suffer
a brain injury).
Butler Webs has
an exhaustive list of month holidays, such as the ones listed above,
and other significant dates. The
Daily Globe will tell you holidays for particular weeks, too. The BBCs
On This Day site reminds
us of relatively recent historical events on this day. Scope
Systems has impressive collections of birthdays for each day of the year,
as well as great lists of what happened throughout history on this date. Enjoy
these sites, and enjoy the rest of Spectacle of the Geese Month!

missed!).
