Picture
Projects is a NYC-based company founded in 1995
that creates documentaries using new media technologies.
Their team collaborates with noted photographers, journalists,
filmmakers and academicians to tackle major contemporary
social concerns. For examples of some fine online journalism,
see their akaKurdistan,
RE: Vietnam
and Farewell
to Bosnia sites. We've featured their award-winning
site 360 degrees
before. It uses video, audio, text and other multimedia
to immerse you in the stories of several prisoners in
the criminal justice system, including some in NC (one
of whom was executed). There is at least one new story
on that site since then. We've also featured the 9 /
11 Sonic
Memorial Project.

It is now possible to
contribute to FIRE online
using your credit card. Please help us out, we can't
be effective without your financial support! In the
future, we will also be using similar technology, provided
by PayPal, to enable you to pay for our upcoming events
from our website with ease.

Forum Follow-Up
We have now posted the
handouts that were distributed by journalists
at our recent media forum. Journalist contact information
is now posted also, if you want to follow up with any of the people you met
at the forum (or if you live in the Asheville area and want to see what you
missed!).
