Link of the Week: May 13 - 19
J-Lab and its "Cool Stuff"

J-Lab, The Institute for Interactive Journalism, is a leader in demonstrating how technology can actively engage people in critical public issues. On their Cool Stuff page, they have fine examples of how to do just that. The page features links to interactive technology that puts you in the driver's seat. For instance, try balancing Texas's budget while still keeping your job there. Or, see how Topeka voted online to decide who to kick off of their City Council, a la "Survivor." J-Lab is a center of the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism and is a spin-off of the Pew Center for Civic Journalism.
